their story
Jill and Spencer met in November 2022 while they were both in grad school and had their first date at Bitter Honey in Rochester, NY. It was an instant connection — comfortable, genuine, and surprisingly familiar.
A few minutes into talking, they realized why. Their families had spent time together when they were kids, including a day at Disney World in 2008 where both of them ended up in the same photo. They’re forever grateful their parents captured this picture — not knowing they were documenting the real beginning of this story.
The proposal
In early 2025, when Spencer earned a promotion that required moving to Nashville, he knew one thing for certain — he didn’t want to step into that new chapter without Jill fully by his side. With a little behind-the-scenes help from Jill’s friend Elisa, he found the perfect moment. On his birthday, April 16th, in the Oxford Street apartment that held so much of their life together, Spencer asked Jill to marry him. She, of course, said yes!

When we pictured our wedding, the part that mattered most wasn’t the event — it was the people. We kept coming back to the idea of being surrounded by the family and friends who have shaped us, supported us, and loved us through every chapter.
A destination wedding felt like the best way to slow down and actually be with everyone — not just for one night. The idea of sharing sunshine, dinners, laughter, and real downtime with all of you felt like a dream.
