We chose to do a destination wedding because we love to travel and want to share the special moment with all of you. Our destination wedding specialist, Danielle was happy to help us find the perfect location to have our wedding and the spot we chose ended up being both of our top picks from the options we had. Therefore, it was a no brainer that we would tie the knot and start our new journey together as Mr. and Mrs. at the Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We cannot wait for the big day and to celebrate with you all in paradise!

Tyler & Haley met in Brighton, Michigan when they both were out with friends. As you can imagine when they introduced themselves, they hit it off right away. Sat and talked for hours about their background, sports, career, family upbringing, you name it. Both quickly realized how similar they were and had such mutual interests.

After exchanging numbers and texting back and forth for a few weeks, Haley finally agreed to go on a date with Tyler on February 4th, 2023. This was not your normal dinner date…. Just like everything else in their life it was an adventure. “Pack a bag and we will figure it out from there” Tyler told Haley. The day started off with a lunch date at MEAT in Lansing, then a car ride over to Grand Rapids, where Haley talked Tyler into trying his first Iced Vanilla Latte from Starbucks. Tyler and Haley then made the decision to grab a drink at The Grand Rapids Brewing Company and finished the night off at the BOB. By the end of the date, they both realized that this could be something special. Clearly, they both were right!

As many of you know, Tyler & Haley love to travel so what better place to get engaged than on vacation in Hawaii. The trip was planned, and Tyler knew he was going to propose in Oahu but did not know exactly where or how. They went surfing the first full day on Waikiki beach, which they both loved. The following day they decided to go Hike to the top of Makapu’u Point Lookout Trail and explore Halona Beach Cove.

In the morning when getting ready for the hike Tyler knew this could be the day he proposed, so he snuck the ring into his go pro bag. They started off at the Halona Beach Cove and had some unforgettable breathtaking views of the ocean as waves were crashing onto the cliffs. They climbed the rocks and explored the caves. They then traveled over to the Makapu’u Point Lookout Trail.

While on the hike there were several scenic spots to stop, take in the views of the beautiful ocean and cliffs. Tyler was searching for the perfect spot and just as they were reaching the top Haley decided to check out this secluded area where you could stand at the edge of the cliff and take pictures. The view was gorgeous, and he instantly knew that that was the spot. As Haley was looking out into the blue ocean waters, Tyler was scrambling to get the ring and camera out. As Haley turned around to get ready to snap the picture, clearly, she had no idea that Tyler was about to propose, he got down on one knee and Tyler asked Haley to spend the rest of her life with him.

A bit about your stay at Lopesan Costa Bavaro – All-Inclusive:

• Resort with over 1,000 rooms with 3 sections- general reservations, adults-only section, and Unique (VIP) Club

• 7 swimming pools, including an infinity pool, kids pool, kids water splash/slide area, adults-only pool
