Our love story
Matthew and Katherine (let’s call them Chewy & KK) met through mutual friends at the one and only Monte’s Tastes & Taps. Depending on who they’re talking to they might give credit to different people. But we all know it was truly KK’s dog Beezy that won him over. Though it wasn’t intended to be a setup, they did hit it off right away. To their surprise, they discovered that Chewy has known part of KK’s family for many years! From that day on, they were inseparable and hardly went a day without seeing each other. Chewy took KK on their first date to watch the sunset on a restaurant patio, followed by an evening at an outdoor movie theater, then of course, Monte’s. They both knew very early on that they were right for each other, but when Chewy came to meet KK’s family for Thanksgiving a week after they met, that’s when they knew they were in love.

Hiding the proposal from KK was a challenge for Chewy, you’d be surprised she’s not hired by the FBI, and even harder because Chewy can’t keep anything from KK. Chewy planted multiple seeds to throw KK off, and that he did. The proposal was nothing short of a fairytale. Chewy tricked KK by telling her they were “going to brunch with a client”, but when they arrive, he suggested they check out an antique store he had been talking about because they were early. As they walked in, they were greeted by a breathtaking scene: a warehouse transformed with an arch of roses, candles lining a rose petal walkway, and a lit-up sign saying “will you marry me?”. And Chewy knows KK so well and knew the only other thing to top it off was to have her parents show up around the corner followed by his. It was an intimate and special moment that will be cherished forever.
