Our love story

Marcos and Megan’s love story started with a swipe right in 2018. They met like so many other millennials through a dating app and they have never looked back! On their first date, they went to Dave and Buster’s since they were both pretty competitive but Marcos got the biggest win of his life when meeting Megan. Megan claims she knew Marcos was the one a few months into “talking” when he survived a pretty intense interrogation from some old friends. Since then, they’ve experienced so many highs and lows, including a big move to Orlando, FL in the midst of a worldwide pandemic. Together they’ve created a home built on BBQ chicken pizza, anime, and New York Yankee baseball with their energetic and nutty dachshund named Korra!

A few weeks leading up to the engagement, Megan and Marcos were hanging out on the couch in their home when Marcos started acting suspicious about his plans for her 29th birthday. Megan immediately texted her best friend and said, “Marcos is TOTALLY going to propose my birthday weekend.” With huge efforts to cover it up, everyone teamed up to ensure Megan got the biggest surprise despite her suspicions. Fast forward to Saturday, February 18th, 2023, Marcos planned every aspect of the day and woke Megan up at 8am. As soon as they got some Starbucks (#coffeeislife), Marcos made Megan put on a blindfold and drove her to an unknown destination. For anybody who knows Megan personally, this is not an easy feat. Asking ten thousand questions on their trek to Orlando airport where she was surprised with her best friend, Stephanie, from Texas, whom she hadn’t seen in an entire year. As her best friend distracted her and they played catch up after some real big tears of being reunited, Marcos surprised her with a winery day with all of her closest friends in the Orlando area. At this point, Megan was getting suspicious but as the day went on she started realizing that maybe it was *just* a celebration with her best friends. Instantly she didn’t think it was happening and even made several jokes to her friends secretly. After a photoshoot and a few glasses of wine, a few of her friends stated they needed to go back home to let the dogs out. Of course, being oblivious Megan didn’t realize they all had the exact same excuse. Once they left the winery, Marcos took Megan and her best friend Stephanie back to their home where the surprise of a lifetime was about to happen. As soon as Megan walked through the door, her dad exclaimed that he needed to show her something in the backyard. Being frazzled and very confused, Megan followed him and walked out the door to Marcos down on one knee, with the entire yard and gazebo decorated with lights and a sign saying “Marry me?” After a moment, the song “buy dirt” by Luke Bryan started playing and Marcos asked Megan to marry him and she said YES! It was at that moment she looked around to see all of her friends who she’d spent the day with, some of Marcos's friends from Miami, and both their families who were there to celebrate their love with a surprise engagement party. It was a day full of surprises, love, and excitement, especially for their little dachshund who was VERY pumped that her dad made it official.
