Bryan & Katie

Our story…
Our mutual friend, Emily, had been attempting to get us together for quite some time. As Bryan moved back to IL, she encouraged me to make the connection. After becoming friends on Facebook, one week went by without a word. I was usually not the one to make the first move, but with a little help and push from my friend Sarah, a message was sent. On October 23rd, 2019, we met up on our first date at Two Brothers Roundhouse in Aurora. We had made the first date a complete secret from Emily and her then boyfriend Tom (now husband), and came to the mutual agreement that if it went well, we would send them a selfie at the end of the date. Sure enough, 3 hours into our first date, we took a selfie and sent it off awaiting our friend's reactions. Their excitement almost matched ours. A second date was planned and the rest is history…
We had taken a trip to Tampa/St. Pete Beach FL for a getaway in our very busy schedules. Bryan had made reservations the second night after we arrived at Maritana, an upscale restaurant within the famous 'Pink Palace' or The Don Cesar on St. Pete Beach. After dinner, we had planned to catch a sunset on the beach. 3 hours before our dinner, we were relaxing after a day at the beach and started to talk about our approaching schedules when we returned. When talking about a meeting planned for the night we arrived home, Bryan said "You can come with and show off your ring". Conversation was immediately halted, and I let it slide. At that point, Bryan thought he had blown the surprise. After our scheduled dinner, we made our way out to the beach, where Bryan got down on one knee and of course with tears in my eyes, I said YES!!! Neither of us could tell you exactly what happened after that. Fortunately, Bryan hired a photographer to capture it all.
Bryan and I love to travel. Especially if it includes a trip to the beach, mango margaritas, and being with our friends and family. We wanted to spend our wedding on vacation with those who mean the most to us. We know and understand that everyone is very busy, so don’t expect anyone to make the trip. However, if you want to take a vacation, we would love to have all of you there! We will be having a private wedding ceremony with family on the beach. We would love for everyone to join us for the reception at Royalton Riviera Cancun!! NO formal wear is required. In fact, it’s discouraged. Hawaiian shirts and tropical/floral dresses are recommended.
