can i bring a plus one?
Absolutely! We understand that you are traveling a long way to celebrate with us, we want you to have the best time possible! Just be sure to RSVP for the correct number of people in your party via the wedding website
how long should i stay?
You can stay as long as you would like. We recommend arriving at least 1-2 days before the wedding in case of any travel delays. The resort requires at least a 3-night stay to qualify for our wedding discounted rate. Alda and Eric will be staying in a Preferred Club Room 6/4 - 6/11, but most guests are staying at the resort from 6/5 - 6/9, you are welcome to stay in paradise as long as you want!
When should i book accomodations
ASAP!
RSVPs are due May 7 and all reservations must be made by August 7 with final payment due by March 7. After your reservation is made a payment link can be sent whenever convenient for you and will be automatically sent on the first Friday of each month by our wedding planner, Danielle, with Paradise Bliss Destination Weddings. If you have not yet made your reservation but still plan to attend, we recommend that you book as soon as possible. This is a very popular resort that usually sells out!
Where do we fly into and how far away is the resort from the airport?
The closest airport to Dreams Las Mareas is the Liberia Airport (LIR). The resort is approximately 90 minutes away from the airport. Transportation can be booked with Danielle and is cheaper if you book with others in our group. Danielle can assist with flights, if you would like, or you can use Google Flights or your favorite airline carrier.
As a reminder, a passport book is required to travel to Costa Rica and must be valid for 6 months following your entry date. Therefore, if your passport is set to expire anytime before the end of December 2025, you will not be able to enter Costa Rica. We recommend renewing as far in advance as possible. Click the link at the bottom of this page to contact Danielle, our destination wedding planner, for more information
what is dreams las mareas resort like?
We recommend downloading the Hyatt Inclusive Collections App which will tell you everything you need to know about the resort. There is so much to do here! See the links below for more information for specific activties:
Massages are available on the Beach with Angie, you can find her on Facebook under “Angie Zapata”. There are many, friendly, vendors on the beach, feel free to tell them you are not interested as we recommend supporting local as much as possible.
are children allowed?
Yes! Dreams Las Mareas is a family-friendly resort. Since Costa Rica is such an amazing destination, we would love for you to be able to make this into the vacation you want! If that involves bringing your kiddos, feel free! There is a Kids Club on-site too for kids 3 and older, if tiolet trained.
There are also plenty of adult-only locations on the resort for guests without children too!
How much will this cost?
The total cost will depend on how many nights you are planning on staying and how many people will be in your room— but on average you can expect to pay about $185-$285/per person, per night. Please contact Danielle, our destination wedding planner, contact information at the bottom of this page for more information.

Can I stay elsehwere?
The resort cannot guarantee that guests who are not staying on property will be permitted a wedding pass if the resort is at capacity. We strongly recommend that you stay at the resort for the wedding so this doesnt impact you. We love you and want to spend as much time with you while in Costa Rica, in addition the resort is fairly isolcated staying elsewhere will make this difficult! Please consider staying at Dreams for the wedding and extending your trip before or after the wedding if you wish to stay elsewhere.
If you do choose to stay elsewhere, you will need to pay for a wedding day pass, if available along with all transportation costs. You will also not be able to attend any of the pre or post wedding events we are arranging. If the resort is at capacity and the resort is not offering wedding day passes, unfortunately you will not be able to attend the wedding.
What is there to do in the area?
The resort offers tours outside of the resort at an addtional cost including ATV tours, horse-back riding, ziplinning, hot springs, volcanoes, waterfalls, etc. ULF is a local tour operator in La Cruz we recommend using, the easiest way to reach him is through Facebook Messenger “ULF Halbgebauer Briceno Real Tours”. Alternativelty, you can use Amstar (click here) or Danielle can recommend other options, feel free to reach out for more information.
What is the wedding dress code?
While there isn’t a dress code required for the wedding, there are dress code requirements for some of the restaurants on-site.
Casual Elegance (most dinner dining locations): Sneakers or Dress Sandals (no flip-flops). Dress shirts with sleeves and long pants are required for men.
Casual: Bermudas (long shorts or capri pants), sneakers/ tennis shoes, or sandals. No sleeveless shirts for men. Women must wear a bathing suit wrap or cover-up.
Daytime Casual: Bathing suit, cover-ups, shorts, tops, and sandals required
Beach Casual: Swim trunks, bathing suits, and flip-flops accepted
What do I pack?
Since the temperature can be quite warm we recommend bringing light summer clothing including swimsuits, light casual dresses, cover-ups, and linen-style pants to keep cool. Make sure to note the restaurant dress code above. If you plan on going on any excursions closed-toed athletic shoes may be required.
Other helpful essentials include sunblock (lots and lots of sunblock, the sun is very intense in Costa Rica so please be prepared), water shoes, bug spray, aloe or after burn, flip-flops, rash guard, pain reliever, Pepto Bismal, antacids, sunglasses, sun hat, large refillable water bottle, straw (metal - only paper ones are handed out with drinks), books, etc.
If you like to float in the pool, bring a pool floatie! While definitely not necessary, it is nice to have your own to relax and enjoy with.
There will be a small shop on-site, but prices are quite high so make sure to come prepared!
Before packing remember TSA rules for smooth sailing through security checkpoints:
No liquids, including sealed water bottles, are permitted.
Liquids, gels, and aerosols packed in carry-on must follow the 3-1-1 liquids rule: 3.4 ounces or less per container, 1-quart size, clear, plastic, zip-top bag (all liquids must fit in the bag), 1 bag per passenger. Placed bag in front pocket of your carry-on for accessibility.
If purchasing a bag lock, be sure to look for those that are TSA approved
Do not pack items such as box cutters, utility knives, and razors in carry-on luggage. Razor blades intended for shaving that is enclosed in a safety cartridge in which the blade cannot be removed are permitted.
Pack large electronics on the top layer of the carry-on for screening accessibility. These also may be required for removal from your bag through checkpoints. TSA agents will guide you
Note the baggage weight limit for all checked bags and bag size for both carry-on and checked bags. This may vary across airlines.
Most airlines only allow one carry-on and one personal item per person - please double-check with your airline and be aware of this as you board the plane.
Don’t forget these important details!
You will be invited to a “VIP Breakfast”, it is encouraged to turn the staff down to attend this meeting. It is actually a timeshare presentation, and won’t be worth your precious vacation time!
You may be invited to receive a “Resort Coupon Book/Credit”, these coupons are only good on items that may not be necessary like bottles of wine (remember you get free glasses of wine throughout the property), discounts on spa treatments (only one can be used per treatment, can not be used on discounted/packaged treatments), romantic beachfront dinners. etc. Most times it isn’t worth the hassle of attempting to get these, let Danielle know if you want more information.
You may want to bring “Damp Rid”, while it certainly is not going to make a huge impact on your stay, it will leave your room and clothing feeling less “damp”, because of the high humidity and A/C
Don’t be afraid to order multiple appetizers, entrees & desserts - you are at an all-inclusive! Everything is included, so why not so big?!
Download What’s App, which is a free messaging service you can use on WiFi to connect with family and friends.
Notify your credit cards of your travel plans, so if you use it internationally they know to accept those charges on your behalf
Don’t forget your passport and arrive at the airport with plenty of extra time to spare. It is recommended to arrive 3 hours before your flight for an international booking.
